Nardene talks about encouraging learner friendships within the classroom environment (0:57)

Some people grasp ideas quicker than others. So the trainer can say, ‘Does everyone understand?’ Like, he can have an overview of like who understands, who doesn’t.  Yeah, and then the ones that maybe put up their hand and say, ‘Okay, I understand this’ and then you might partner them up to help ones that don’t understand. And not only Indigenous students, non-Indigenous. So don’t single them out but sort of integrate them into the classroom environment.  By doing that, they can meet new people and interact with other people also within their classroom, so it builds like friendships.   Yeah, I felt like that’s important for the non-Indigenous and the Indigenous, to get to know each other, and that makes a friendly classroom also.
