Marita talks about the importance of ceremony (0:58)

The most important for us, from a different community, like the remote areas like from Milingimbi, Ramingining, Elcho, Lake Evella, here at Maningrida, the most important culture for us is ceremony.

So what would a lecturer have to know about ceremony?  Or what would they have to understand? Or would they just have to know that when there’s ceremony on, you’re not going to be available for study?

Yes.  So I have to go and tell him I’ve got a ceremony and like I have to like – if I have to see one old man like sitting down in our class, like I have to tell him and we can explain it to him.
